The Brookfield Bulldogs got an impressive win against Don August and the North Lake Lakers, considering the makeshift team they put on the field due to many missing starters. The Bulldogs were without Bill Gorman, Mike Mierow, Ryan Hinz, Patrick O'Brien, Elijah Goodman and rookie Parker Sniatynski. Jason Rutz is also out due to shoulder surgery. Dom Labellarte and Jarred Shipman (Brookfield Central) were thrust into the starting lineup along with Jacob Boudreaux (formerly Concordia) and Jason Mayer (ex-Falls/Sussex/Merton).

Greg Basthemer, who had been fighting a bad case of the flu for the previous 3 days, was able to make the start and got the win. Basthemer pitched 5-1/3 innings, giving up 2 runs while striking out 2 and walking 2. Jeff Lueck pitched the final 3-2/3 innings and earned the save. Lueck did not surrender a hit and struck out 2 while walking 2. Scott Booth led the Bulldogs at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a homerun and 3 runs scored. Lueck had a crucial 2-run homer in the 9th inning and finished the day 2-for-4 with 3 RBI. K.C. Pinsoneault was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Kris Franzen was 2-for-5. Josh Lemke, Jarred Shipman and Boudreaux each had a hit.

August, as usual, put forth a gutsy performance with 130 pitches over 8 innings. Jake Calmes pitched the final inning in relief. The Bulldogs finished with 12 hits to North Lake's 4.
